Can someone explain to me how this file is populated?
I don't understand the  received quantity being 0  and buyoff and scrap quantites equaling the received quantity.

I am looking for records of PO receipts for a given time period.  I assume I need to look at both the POL and HPOL ( I thought the H was for history for closed PO's) records.  But all of the records in the POL file are also in the HPOL file (only the HPOL file has Buyoff and scrap), and the ones that have 0 for received quantity in the POL file have buyoff and scrap quatities in the HPOL file( there are many records in the HPOL file that are not in the POL file, all with buyoff and scrap quantities and 0 rec quantity).

If I just use the HPOL file, will I get all the records I am looking for?

Cathy,

The Hpol file is really a receiver file. Every po line receipt is in the hpol file.  So just use the HPOL file.  There can be multiple records for the same PO because that PO line may have been partially received one day then the balance received later on.

 Hope that helps

Thanks, Allen, that helps.  I still don't get the buyoff and scrap entries though. These are normal one line all on order received items.  I don't see the difference between them and the ones with the received quantity in the POL_RQTY field.

buyoff and scrap qty fields relate to the processing of PO-C into QC inspection, and then PO-J-C buyoff from QC into Inventory.

That's what I thought, only we never receive into QC, therefore we never "buyoff" and we certainly did not scrap all these parts that have that field populated.
