POs out of sequence

I deleted some Purchase Orders and then reindexed the PO files and now the PO listing in IN-A is out of sequence.  I tried to rebuild the files but I keep getting an error.  The log says the data base engine returned a status 1 while working on the file.  
 
How can I fix this?

Use Pervasive Rebuild Utility. Go to the settings and set the Key to the index you wish. Probably Key 1. Make certain that you have a current backup of the files you rebuild.

Tried that.     That's when I get the "data base engine returned a status 1 while working on the file" error.
