PO Conversion Factor Not Right
10/31/06 at 13:24:54

When we receive a PO that has a conversion factor of 25, a qty of 8 should put 200 pcs into inventory right?

No Go. It has been putting 8 UOH not 200. Am I missing something?

Ours works the way you think it should work, with 200 going into stock.  Are you putting the conversion factor into the line item on the PO?  It will not automatically pick it up from "Items".

Bingo, We have a winner. It is strange, when you enter the part # the con factor shows as 25. When you toggle past the order qty, it changes back to 1???????????? It would be nice if the field would remain at the set factor in IN-B and not go back to 1 (ARE YOU LISTENING NZ)

Thanks,

John

My conversion factor (from IN_B)stays in place 99.5% of the time. For some reason on several items it returns to 1 as I toggle past the conversion factor field. I have no idea why, but would like to know if anyone has any thoughts.

I noticed that that same part # with a different vendor works. That only leaves Vendor Pricing as the difference. ?

PO-H (Vendor Pricing) has a field for the conversion factor.   Check it out for the errant values.

In any event, PO-C uses the value for conversion factor in the PO Line record so that is ultimately the governing  factor.

I have been playing with this and find that for any conversion factor less than 10,000 the correct conversion factor stays in place when I tab past the qty. When the conversion factor is 10,000 ... the po conversion factor changes from 10,000 to 1 when I tab past the qty. Is this a system limitation or am I (as usual) doing something wrong. We buy labels in rolls of 10,000. Stock UM is each, pruch UM is ROL, and my conversion factor is set to 10,000.
Thanks

Hmmm.  I can enter 10000 in PO-A as conversion factor.  and it saves it.

I can do that too, but if it is less than 10,000 it automatically takes it from what I have entered in IN-B, so I don't have to remember (I'm 61 you know) to re-enter it in PO-A.
