SO-A DELAY AFTER UPDATE
11/27/06 at 10:26:10

Installed the most recent update this weekend. We now experience a much longer delay when going from header screen to line item screen and also when saving the line items.

10/31/06 update
EVO only
Windows 2000
Peer to peer
This happens with old programs, have not updated user menus to new programs after update.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

Lynn,

We need help with this issue. Fortunately we still have classic to fall back on, but it presents problems for me to have users go back to Classic, to enter the sales orders, and then back to EVO for everything else.

If the entry person gets tired of waiting at the EVO SO-A to save and exits out, the system hangs and need to use task manager to end the program.

Thanks Steve

We have had several reports of this but it does not appear to be everybody, is not evident on either my system or the programmer's, and we can't find anything obviously different in the program.  The only difference between August and October is the Evo memo field for Notes but the problem seems to exist whether the notes are turned on or not.

I can send you the SO-A program from the August update, that should at least alleviate the immediatre problem but more troubling is to figure out what the difference is.  We may have to ask somebody experiencing the problem to troubleshoot with us.

This is not happening on the XP workstations on the peer to peer network, but only on the server/workstation which is running win 2000 (which just so happens that this is where the bulk of sales orders is entered.)

We are having the same problem, this seems to be the only thing that is running slow, but all of our customer service people seem to be having this problem.

My sales people have complained of this also.  They are workstations with W2000.  However, I also experience this and I am running XP PRo.
Timing is not consistent, sometimes all screens take 6-8 sec, sometimes they come right up.  Sometimes the only delay is going from line item to header screen.
Sometimes the program itself seems to take a long time to load (8-9 sec).

We are also having this problem in SO, it is very inconsistent though.  DBA users seem not to have a problem at all.  We did notice that on "users", there are mutiple users for the same person, who only has one EVO open.  We have a user who is not only out of the program, but computer is shut down completely and they are showing as an open user in EVO.  the user with multiple users is showing in SO-A 5 times.

Ok this is a strange one, as there is nothing that really changed in the SO-A programs.

I have tried it here and I don't really see much of a speed issue, but enough of you users have. I will generate a special SO-A program that calculates time from process to process and I will send it to someone who is having this problem to see where the slow down is occurring.

I hope to get this solved quickly.

This is fixed and the patch has been posted.  Click the IS Tech Support logo on the Main Evo menu for the link to the Status page and the update file.
