Work order won't close - unposted labor
01/18/07 at 14:22:24

I have a work order that won't close because of unposted labor transactions.  DC-D does not report any unposted transactions.  Posting labor transactions does not clear it.  I can't find it using WO-F Enter Labor.  I *can* find the record in Maintain Database in file BKDCPLAB.BXX.  Once there I can't figure out how to mark it as posted.

To get this WO closed, I would be willing to just delete the record in BKDCPLAB.BXX.  Is that the right thing to do? Or is there a better way?

If you know the info on the record, is it clocked in & out or just clocked in?  Try DC-D for Open rather than Pending.  You may need to clock it out first.  Or delete it, the only downside is that your Job Cost may be off by that indeterminate labor amount.

Thanks Lynn.  I needed to know I could delete the record without trashing something else.

DC-D didn't find the labor transaction in any of the possible choices, posted, pending, or open.

I deleted the record in BKDCPLAB.BXX.  Then I re-entered the data in WO-F Enter Labor.  After that, I was able to close the work order normally.
