large WIP Variance on JC-M WIP Summary
02/20/07 at 08:15:07
I am trying to get a valid WIP Summary as of 12/31/06.
JC-M seems to work correctly for this with an as of date of 12/31/06.
I have one work order on the report that has a large WIP Variance.
This WO had 4 Partial receipts. How do I remove the WIP Variance on this report?
With it there, the Net WIP for this WO is negative.
Is the first paragraph of this post still valid?

The paragraph of the original post is still valid but the key is whether the Variance is valid. The WIP Variance will not appear until the work order is closed. If the WO was closed and the costs were not recalculated, it is possible the variance is in error. If so, reopening and rebuilding the costs and reclosing (as of the same date) will post a variance in the other direction reversing the effect of the first one.

Maybe it is legitimate. What was the total cost in and total finished production out?
