I used to be indecisive; now I'm not so sure......

The main advantage of using an "I" type work order, and it's a big one for me, is that the work order is not included in the WIP summary report JC-M. This means that I can get a meaningful total of what is in the WIP GL account; since the I type work orders are expensed and not captured in WIP, when they are included in the WIP summary the WIP total is over-stated. We use the GL and so the class code of the "I" type part number specifies where the labor is captured. However, I just ran the AI-C report which I presume you use and the labor issues are all lumped together in that report. I guess if I was not using the GL I would be exporting this report to excel and sorting by part number, or creating a report in Access/Crystal Reports. I don't think anything will include the "N" type part number on the IN-N-A report. They have no "inventory" value since they presumably have been expensed. I may be wrong about this though!
