Is this an EVO only problem??

I have not seen this happen to us.  We only run classic, and I have everything updated to current.

For those of you that have lost your vendor info:
If you can see the vendor code and vendor Item # in Maintain Database in table MTICMSTR, then I wrote up a small SQL update that can populate a new BKSBVEND.

Mind you, when the BKSBVEND vendor file was introduced, the old fields in MTICMSTR were no longer maintained, but it could give you a starting place.

Please email or send a personal message through the forum if you would like a copy.

I restored from a backup and all is well, but the bug has been identified. It has to do with using the "Clear" button in IN-B. Until there is a patch, don't use it.

I don't think that my people use that button, but I used it during the training session that I did on the new T7 programs.  Grin

Nope.  This is called the ISTechSupport forum.  There is paid staff supporting a commercial product.  The wiki is meant for user to user support.  Thanks for the feedback though.

Well, I guess a different browser worked for this topic only ?!?!?!  Nice.

Point here is, it's still a public forum, but regardless, YELLING in posts rarely, if ever, get you noticed in a positive way.  We've all had our rants here, but you'll gain much more respect and HELPFUL responses if you do it with a bit more finesse.  If anyone should have been fuming, it's yours truly; I started the thread, and ultimately I solved it / found the fix.  If I had NOT, you can be sure I'd have kept the topic at the top of the reply list until it was solved.  As I already said, I should have responded with the fix I found and usually do, this time -- my bad!!!

So, have you tried the suggestions here and in the other thread I started?

Thanks for the follow-up.  I have a feeling the Clear button issue in IN-B is what was causing the demise on my end.  I've nixed all of the T7 programs as they just don't seem to be ready yet...never could get T7WOA to work without a bunch of errors.  Anyway, I apologize for yelling - it was a first for me on this board.  However, it did seem to nudge the info. out so I feel justified.

Good grief.  I guess I won't ask if I can join the club.  cry

The website also says this:
"Support from IS Tech Support specialists and programmers and over 1800 other DBA Classic users is always available from the FREE user forum at www.istechforum.com"

It was the paid staff I was trying to get acknowledgment from when I used my outside voice...

My BKSBVEND.B file just blew up again. Everyone swears that they didn't use the Clear button in T7INB. I just knocked them all back to T6INB and will now reload the vendor file again. I'll do some more testing on my backup system.

Right now I'm the only one using the T7's and it'll be that way until they are stable and more intuitive.

Patch posted to www.istechsupport.com/status.asp.  When you unzip the file, make sure WinZip is set to Use Folder Names.

This will not restore the data but it will (at least as much as we have been able to determine) prevent it from happening again.

Your way off base here. This list is a free list for users to share info. The fact that Lynn or Allen monitor the list, or chime in with solutions is a bonus to us. If you have problems that are so frustrating to you, you should email them directly, rather than taking out your frustrations on the group. As far as getting your money's worth on this "free" list, I guess you are.

That being said, We have suffered the same issue for years. It has come and gone more than once. It's been acknowledged by several members. There were claims that it was fixed in previous upgrades but the problem would resurface again in later upgrades. It's been a tough one to nail down.
