work orders

When I close work orders I receive a message saying invalid gl acct: -
The amount then gets put into clearing account. Where is it getting the - gl from. I can't find where it is coming from. Does anyone have any ideas?

One of your classes has a faulty GL entry for COGS, perhaps. Check SM-C, Item Class GLs and check the classes to see if one is screwed up / empty or if one of your defaults looks hokey. Maybe you've deleted or changed a GL? Beyond that, I'm pretty useless  undecided

Accounting Menu AD-A list account defaults - check the Mfg GL default accounts page, the last item called "WIP Variance" account. Is there a valid account in that field?

When you close a work order, the remaining amount, if any, posts to WIP Variance.

In AD-A there is a valid account in wip variance. We don't use the class gl's. I'm still not sure what is going on. Thanks for your ideas.

Every class has a set of default GLs. Are they all valid?

Where do I check the gl defaults for the classes at? Also, not all workorders have the invalid gl. It is about half of them.

AD-A- MFG Defaults.  Or go to the class codes, SM-C and check the class code GL's for the specific class code you are looking at.
