Excel Question

I don't know if this is the right place for this question, but I figured that with so many computer "Guru's" out there someone might be able to help.

I have an estimating module that I wrote in Excel & VBA that eventually has the data imported to DBA if the estimate becomes a job.  I just recently eliminated the Excel command bars (and menus) and installed my own so that all work would have to be done through the project.  The problem I'm having is that after clicking on a menu that has sub-menus the "click" stays active even if I release my finger and the first sub-menu that the pointer crosses activates.  I can't find anything on this problem anywhere in the manuals or on the internet.  I don't even know if I'm phrasing my queries correctly to find the information.

Has anyone run across this and, if so, have you found a solution?

TIA
