Printing Shop Travelers & Linked images together
06/04/07 at 12:55:22

We are needing to have the shop traveler and its linked image print together when printing multi. travelers.  Is this possible?  We use both classic and Evo.

Thanks!!

John is right. I can't print the traveler and then print the linked document then jump back into the traveler printing, the program prints the Traveler(s) then prints out the Linked documents.  That is two different printing commands to the printer, so step one is print the Travler(s) and when that is done it prints the Linked docs.

Thanks for the info!  The reason we wanted this to work is we put a copy of the part print on the back of the Shop Traveler so as it goes from seq. to seq. everyone knows what the end part/assembly should be.

If they would alternate then we could duplex and save several steps as well as paper.  We will still save time with it the way it is currently working but not near as much as we would have.

Oh well.  You can't have everything where would you put it.

Currently all of our prints are AutoCAD .dwg files.  However, we will be converting everything to .pdf since we have gone to ProE in the Eng. Dept.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

I just tried to print a traveler and it printed the link but not the actual traveler itself.  We have all our links (drawings and work instructions) in pdf format but what confuses me is the option to print Thumbnail or Link.  Both seem to work, but what's the difference and why doesn't my traveler print every time I try this.

The option for thumbnail will print jpg, gif, bmp, etc.. (graphic images) on the traveler itself. Link will print a Word Doc, or PDF or Autocad drawing etc after the traveler.  As to why it did not print the Traveler itself is beyond me.. For Links it prints the Travelers first then it prints the Links.  Has anyone else seen this?

How big are the thumbnail images and can you adjust this?  Also, where on the travelers do they print and can you change this as well?

I think I made them 1 inch by 1 inch, but yes you can in Evo make them bigger and also move them. currently they print on the BOM section.
