Will EVO work on Dumb Terminals?  If so, how?

What exactly do you need?  We are getting ready to release Shop Floor Data Collection programs for hand held devices such as Symbol 90XX that would also run on a pocket PC using Terminal Server.

We are doing EVO data collection and I need to run a Microsoft Access application.

We scan 95% of our data collection.  Do the hand helds scan?  Will the Shop Floor Data Collection programs use up EVO seats?  Can they run other applications such as ACCESS?

Thanks

The Hand Held terminals will be running Remote Desktop so they can do anything your server can do, just on a smaller screen.  They will use Evo and Pervasive seats but we have a lower priced Data Collection seat available so you do not have to use up a full Evo seat for the data collection.

Hi Karen, the hand helds definitely scan and offer a variety of scan engines to allow for close range to all range (4" to 40') scanning.  The units are Microsoft Windows CE5.0 or Windows Mobile 5.0 based and will run thin clients (terminal emulation), thick clients (Access or VB.net applications) as well as web clients for web based applications using the onboard Internet Explorer.  For the record, the EVO-ERP application will be runnning the onboard Windows Terminal Services which is the handheld version of yoru PC's Remote Desktop.  The screens have been formatted to fit onto a 1/4 VGA screen by the EVO development team.  Hope this helps!

To further answer, it will NOT work on dumb terminals, it requires a Windows operating system regardless of mobile handheld devices or PC's.
