Transfering Inventory IN-J
08/02/07 at 09:48:38
We have been transfering Inventory from Loc A to Loc B
We just notice that sometimes it creates a jornal entry, and sometime it does not!!!!
Why is that?

Ain't that odd. I just noticed that IN-L-M seems to do entries when transferring serialized items. That doesn't really make sense at first blush.

Ain't that odd?

I will take a look but it may compare the GL Asset account of the Locations in question and if they are the same then there is no need for as transaction.

Yes, You are right (Actually, the GL Account on the CLASS is what matters). My apologies.
Happy Face now

Yes, GL Posting looks at the Class + Location and the entries in SM-C, Item Class GL associated with both the Class and Location involved.
