Update to the latest version

Hi,

I am running DBA classic 2004.1 with ISTECH Support Update 10/31/06. I have a test machine that I have set up with the latest ISTECH support update 9/27/07 for DBA CLASSIC. I would like to make copies of the database from the current install to the test machine on almost a daily basis to check out some things. IS it OK for me to just copy the DEFAULT Folder from the current install to the test machine and run the Update from the 9/27/07 update. Or do I have to start with the 2004.1 version with ISTECH support update 10/31/06 and update the install on the test machine each time to the latest version.

BAsically I want to copy old version data to the test machine and be able to update the data alone without changing the install itself.

I don't remember exactly what (if any) data structure changes have occurred between the 10/6 version and the current one but I think it is only the addition of new tables which your new install would already have. In that case, copying the default folder would work. To be safe, after copying it, go to UT-A and run DDCHECK to be sure there are no errors.
