Child support?
04/14/08 at 10:18:02

We haven't had to do child support in a long, long time... Now we find ourselves with an employee who owes child support. We have a liability account for CS but the system seems to want an expense account... Does anyone have some experience with this? Should we have an expense account instead? Not sure how to go about setting this up in the system.

I have a half dozen of these and no expense account setup. Make sure that calculation method on the employer side is set to 0. The only thing it should need is a vendor for when it transfers liabilities to accounts payable. In the vendor set up, use the same liability account for the "expense account" as in the payroll set up for that deduction.
