A new utility will be added to the next update as IN-N-D Inventory to GL Exceptions Report and can be made available to any current users on the 3/27/08 update. If you would like a copy, please email me the request. The program works in Classic or Evo and can (for now) be run at UT-A, ISINND (ISINND.RUN in Evo) or ISINND.RUN can be added to the Evo menu for appropriate users. The program does the following: Prompt for Date Range Prompt for Inventory GL Account (one Inventory account at a time). Allow selection of Purchases, Sales, Work Orders and/or Other Journal and indicate whether the report should include Exceptions only. The program will total the net of all the transactions in the GL by Journal type and then also total the net of INVTXN records as follows: Inventory part types R, F, A, M only Item Class & Location assigned to the GL Account specified. Transaction Types P, Q, M, C (AP-C Price Change) for Purchases Journal Transaction Type S for Sales Journal Transaction Types T, A for Other Journal Transaction Types W, I for Work Order Journal Other transaction types (J, O, G, R) are excluded because they affect WIP, not Inventory, and Inventory Item types other than R, F, A, M are also excluded because they should not be posting to the Inventory account(s). A report is generated with an entry for each day or, if exceptions only, each day there is a mismatch between the Inventory Transactions and GL transactions total. The report lists the date, and 4 pairs of columns, one for each transaction type with the net based on Inventory Transactions and the net based on GL. Once a date with a discrepancy is identified, the user can use GL-C or GL-E to print the detail of the GL Transactions and IN-O to print the detail of Inventory transactions for the appropriate journal and transaction type to identify the specifics of the mismatch but at least you are now looking at a single day and journal type rather than sifting through an entire month.
