Enabling Warranty Designation by Item
07/25/08 at 09:27:07

Warranty Designation by Item (Evo-ERP only) - saw this in the IS Tech Defaults and I don't remember it coming up in training - I can't see it did anything when I enabled it in the test company and made a change to an item in IN-B.  There was no added field to show the item had a warranty, or any place to enter that info in IN-B.  So does this feature work yet?  If so, what should I be seeing and where?

From the help file:
If this is set to Y then when saving an item in IN-B  Enter Inventory you can enter the number of days applicable for standard and extended warranty applicable to serialized items.  Then when saving Sales Order with serialized items on it, you are prompted whether the standard or extended warranty applies and the invoice posting will save the warranty expiration date to the SERIAL file for the shipped items.

TIA

It works but only for serialized items and only when saving in T7INB

Sounds right.. Kinda..

In T7IN-A BOM if you select a record (click on or Enter) then T7IN-A switches to that item, and a button appears to go back to the previous part. you can continue to (drill down) by clicking in the Bom button again if that new part also has a BOM and the back Button will pop you back one level each time you press it..

That was how I did the Drill stuff in BKINA and users liked it so much that I had to add this to Evo INA too.

Allen, is this the answer to my question in Problem reports about the BOM button in IN-A?
If it is, check out my next post there.
