Disabling UM on Packing Lists
08/07/08 at 11:52:21

After upgrading from DBA Classic 2002.2 to 2004.1, UM is now displayed on our packing slips. I tried removing the section in Modify Forms area, however after removing the UM text label, the UMs still showed for each product (EA, PR, etc...).

I could not find how to modify the form so that no UMs would show at all, rather than just removing "UM" and still have EA, PR displayed underneath. undecided

Any help would be great. Thanks for those who replied to my previous posts!!!  Cheesy

Editing forms is a art. No fun, really. The line items are in a sub report (see tabs along bottom), but if you edit a sub report don't save from there. Always go back to the main report before saving, or else the world will end.

Lol, i hear ya. I checked the tabs at the bottom, none seem to be UM specific...didn't know if there was a data import manager for the packing lists so I could tell DBA not to include it?!?! Like I wrote initially, I can erase the Label: UM, just not the info that gets imported, still says EA Sad

OK  -You turned off the header on the main page.  Now on sub report 1 (the one right next to the main page) - you need to turn off the same column number (I think it is the 4th one, bkar...) and that should stop the UM from printing on each line.   DON'T FORGET TO GO BACK TO THE MAIN PAGE TO SAVE. Turn it off by un-checking  VISIBLE.

K, found visible check mark, BUT since I deleted it entirely, will that affect other reports as well? I'm using a dummy DBA, not the server's, so not scared to make boo-boos Tongue

I'm not sure if there is a problem - on some reports, deleting fields is a big no-no - don't know if this is one of them or not.  Leaving them there and just turning off the visibility is always best.

Changes to an RTM will ONLY affect that RTM, not others.  But as RPCAdmin said, in teh future, changing to invisible rather than deleting fields is preferable.  In some cases, the field is used by something else on the form and, with DBA Classic, if you make it invisible, you can always turn it back on.  In Evo that is less oif a big deal because you can add new fields to forms in Evo so if you delete something it is easy to pout it back.

In your case, since you are making the changes in a Copy of DBA, once you have the RTM the way you like it, you can simply copy that RTM file to the live DBA.
