Export / Importing Data
08/18/08 at 08:36:12

We have a need to export our labor file, make corrections, and re-import.  I can export easily enough, but for the life of me, I can not figure out how to import. I am using SM-DE-H-A to import, but cannot get the data to import properly...I can't figure how to calculate the beginning field start points.  Does anyone have the numbers I can use or how to calculate properly? embarrassed

Thanks,

Dennis

Easiest is to use a Comma delimited file and then just indicate which column in the CSV file is which field.  But be advised that the items you exported are still in the file, you need to clear them before importing the corrections or you will have the data in there twice.

Lynn,

Thanks again for the prompt reply....I completely blanked out using column # from the CSV file.  I was too focused on field names.  It now works okay.

By the way, any way to import start & stop times? (thought I'd asked as this is sometimes needed also).

Thanks,

Dennis

The import program would have to be modified to add those fields.
