A large percentage of our inventory items are make froms.  We have an issue when recieving a po, sometimes the make from components are not taken out of inventory. This of course affects the cost of the parent item and any items it is a child of. Sometimes this isn't noticed till a ways down the line and is time consuming to research and correct.  This seems to be occuring more often. There was an issue with one of the updates where after being asked if you wanted to recieve the make from items proportionally, and  entering thru the item pricing, if you just hit save on the make from items without entering all the way thru them, they weren't taken out of inventory, but that has been corrected. We go thru those extra steps anyway just because we had problem in the past after that particular update.
 
We are on version 2004.1 last update 12/15/07.  If anyone has any suggestions to help this problem it would be greatly appreciated.  Looking through the forum, most make from issues other customers reported were related to a particular po. In our case the is happening  on different po's, although if it occurs on a po with more items to recieve, it is likely those items will have the same problem when recieved.

I have had the same issues.   After talking Bill we determined that the PO's were being corrupted.  What was happening was I was going in and inserting an additional line for a note to each item after the item number but before the component parts.  I was on those particular items when received into inventory that they did not relieve the component inventory correctly.  I started numbering the lines and added notes to the bottom referencing each line item that needed something specific.  I haven't had it happen since.
