Have not been able to run this sucessfully for a long time, it hangs up on file 17?   it goes & goes and racks up more records than it shows to be in the file!   What to do....?

Have you "Re-index" the table?

Reboot your server.
Re-index Tables (UT-A NZINDEX.RUN)
Run UT-K-I again.

By the way what version of Pervasive are you using?

Hi Kellogs, thanks for the reply.  I will try that!

According to the documentation: This release is referred to as Pervasive.SQL 2000i or Pervasive.SQL 2000 SP3. The internal version number is 7.9.

Huh  I tried UT-A to reindex NZINDEX.RUN and it says that progam isn't on the system - either missing or the module was not purchased ???

Is NZINDEX an Evo only program? Will UT-C re-index the file in question? How about the Pervasive tools?

NZINDEX must be EVO only, we don't have one!  Thanks for reading my queries!

To Clarify...

UT-C(Classic and Evo) will reindex a single file.  You need to know and enter the file name and extension.  Make a backup first, there is no OOPS function.
Start - Programs - Pervasive - Utilities - Rebuild will allow selection of a number of files and rebuild them (same thing as reindexing).  Again, make sure you have a backup.
UT-A program NZINDEX (Classic) or NZINDEX.RUN (Evo) is a $49.95 add-on that can save list(s) of files to reindex together and provide a report upon completion of which files were reindexed and which were open and therefore skipped, and how much disk space was recovered.

Great, we're making some progress now.  WHICH files should I reindex through Pervasive, that would help clear up the problem that isn't allowing me to fix binary zeroes ?

You should reindex all.

Now, that could solve your problem or not. I repeat, it would be a good idea to reindex your tables before trying to fix binary zeroes.

Please backup up your tables before attenting anything (X:\DBAMFG\Default\*.B)

If the problem continues, personally contact Lynn or Tim Goldstein.

It could be that you have a corrupted table and/or a corrupted index.

How, exactly, do I set up the reindexing through Pervasive?  Do I select every .B file or what?   Is it from the Default folder, the root directory?

What is an Output Directory?

Key number?

Also, do I need to run this from the server or can I do from my workstation?
