How about an option where you could set the projected stock status in a month or two weeks.  We have some open blanket orders and they could be affecting "available" stock for up to 11 months before they ship, causing some confusion.  So if you could have an option where you see what your stock looks like for the projected few weeks, it may be a help.
 
My idea comes from online banking where you get a projected account balance for the next seven days without affecting your future (>7 days) revolving payments
