using substitue parts
12/05/08 at 15:07:42

I would like to enter a substitute part for an item that is temporarily unavailable.  I see in BM-J how to enter a global substitution, but am not sure how this works as we build a work order and issue parts.  We back-flush when finishing sequences.  If there are none of the standard part available, will the substitute be back-flushed automatically?  Or do we have to run WO-K-E for each work order that we want to back-flush using the substitute?

You have to run WO-K-E which edits the WO BOM to use the substitute.  Then the backflush will pull the substitute since it pulls based on the WO BOM
