Purchase orders & RFQ's Unit of measure
03/04/09 at 12:23:10

We buy steel bar, tube and such and we receive it into our inventory by the inch.  However I order it by piece. for example: our inventory description is 1" x 3" hr flat by 240".  When I get it quoted it is quoted by pc, but i want to receive it in by inch.  Iis that possible so i can easily convert RFQ's to PO's?  I know that there is a conversion option but i don't see how to convert pc to inches.  I am guessing that i can request it by pc then change the qty to inches before converting it to a PO.  I there any other way?

Set the part up with Stock UM of IN and Purch UM of PC.  Then set the PO Conv Multiplier in IN-B to be the number of inches per piece.  You can also change the conversion factor on a RFQ or PO if a specific vendor is providing a different size piece.  The PO and RFQ will take care of the rest.
