You CREATE a F&O BOM using BM-A or FO-A and define all the available choices. You then SELECT the choices for a particular build using either SO-A (Old DBA Classic version) or FO-G (new Evo Configurator). Once you have made the selections in FO-G, then you can convert to a Sales order, Quote, Work Order or Purchase Order. As stated in the prior post, in addition to having the flexibility to convert to multiple outputs, the new configurator can handle more levels per F&O BOM, more choices per level, you can save a particular configuration and convert it multiple times for repeat buys, you can go back and edit selections if the customer changes their mind, and you can stop and save in the middle of the selection process and come back later and finish it. You can also embed choices down at lower levels of the BOM without having any choice points at the top level of the BOM. "Mandatory" options are now truly mandatory and you can combine multiple choices so for example if the quantity per of a particular type O is 5 and there are 3 available choices, you do not have to choose the same for all 5. When defining the BOM, you can designate whether or not a particular choice can be mixed with multiple choices.
