Long links
08/12/09 at 07:30:02

I am aware of the limit of the length of the address for links but I have some files in buried in folders and some of them can go quite deep.  Before I venture forward, I am curious if anyone has used something like TinyURL to add their links and how it's worked for them.

Haven't used tiny url but I map a drive to the deep folder and use the drive:\filename. Only problem is you will have to map to the drive on every computer that needs the file.

If you are still using the Inventory Image Links then the limit is 60 chars.  if you are using the Evo Links (this replaces the Image Links) it has a 256 character limit.  and is no just for Inventory, but you can then link whatever you want to Images, web sites, videos, drawings etc...
