Create New Company
10/14/09 at 14:52:17

It seems that since our update last night, it takes FOREVER to create a new company!

I always create new test companies from the "real" companies and it's not a short process, but it has certainly never ever taken this long. There is no active AV scanner running on the files as they are copied, so I know that's not the issue (my Evo root and all sub folders are excluded from on-access scanning).  I tried last night to create a new company by copying our systems company, and after an hour and a half gave up. It was only up to the "i" files.  I started the process again tonight at 5:30, and it's only up to BKCMVNDH.B02 and it's been almost 20 minutes.  Why would this take so much longer?  Also there is no one in Evo (they've all gone home!).  Could the restructuring that occurred during the update have anything to do with this new slowness? This is really bad. I don't wish to be here all night--can't be, my backup starts at 9PM so this has to be done before that!  I've even cancelled the nightly AV network scan, and I hate skipping that, but this process would never complete with that running.........UGH!

other then what was in the update and my latest stuff I don't see any reason why it would be slow. it is just a Copy command. I.E. copy BKICMSTR.B BKICMSTR.BXX  etc...

I just ran it here and it took under 3 minutes. and i copied a BIG company.

Thanks, Allen, for helping me last night with this.  I didn't get a chance to try the replacement UT-I program, however, I was successful at manually creating the first test company and it's working fine in Evo. Will try to do the second test company using the replacement UT-I program to see if that speeds things up.  One down, one to go!
