JC-A - estimated per part cost
11/13/09 at 07:49:25

In JC-A - Job cost report - Where does the Estimated per part cost come from? Would there be a reason why the cost for the same component is different on different work orders?
Thank you
Doreen

the "estimated cost per part" comes from the Item's Standard Cost at the time the Work Order was created. if the standard cost gets changed after that event only new Work Orders will have the new standard cost as the estimated cost.

I thought that when you change the standard cost for the item and then open an already established work order for that item, save and say yes to recalculate estimated cost question the standard cost of that work order will update to the newer standard cost.

Yes, it will but you have to go through that step.
