Old inventory list
06/24/10 at 10:12:05

Do you have an inventory list that shows (item by item) when was the last time a P/N was used, quantity on hand, cost and description?  I was asked to review the inventory and to make a list of old inventory items for write offs or obsolete status.

It will be like a list of items with the last transaction date, such as the info on IN-A after clicking the transaction tab. If there is no list avialable it has to be done item by item and it will take for ever.

Please reply, I have had other posting that never get answered that is frustrating!!!!!

Thanks

We do this annually. Use IN-P with a from date of X months ago and today as the thru date. Then answer Y to Filter Quantities? and select <= and put 0.00 in the number field. That will give you a list of everything with no sales or use during the last 12 or 18 months or whatever.

NOTE: using <= will also give you items with negative usage, like returns.

Hi Colin, I followed your instrutcions. After dates From and Thru were selected I got a message that reads:

" The DEMO version of this program will only allow you to view the first 10 itmes in BKICMSTR with specific USAGE activity. Contact WWW.ISTECHSUPPORT. COM for more information"

I was able to finish the selection and got a small list (Inventory usage demo report).  I have the pdf copies but do not know how to send them as attachement.

Um... we must have paid for an add on at some point  Huh

Well, you can do the same thing using Excel or Crystal. Have you ever retrieved data from the Pervasive tables using ODBC?

There is a decent primer on the wiki at http://www.evoerpwiki.com/index.php?title=Accessing_DBA_Data_Page

Hi Colin thanks but no thanks... I reviewed the info in the link and that is like Japanese to me.

I know how to transfer info from DBA into excel but I think that the link is talking about more complex methods, once again it sounds Chinese or Japanese to me.

Yes, it does take a bit of programming knowledge or a higher level of experience with Excel or CR. Not for everyone.

On the bright side, the add on programs from IS Tech support are very reasonably priced. The details are on this page (http://www.istechsupport.com/products.php) and the price for the Inventory Usage report is only 50 bucks.

IN-L-O may also give you what you are looking for, or at least similar information.

I have a window that is asking:

"Do you wish to apply the changes to the active status of all inventory items set by this program" the default answer is yes, what is the implication of this answer?  I am working with the real data no the sample company!!!!! undecided

Please let me know ASAP I do not know what is the right thing to do.
