Physical inventory Vs Bin location
07/12/10 at 19:32:49

Hi,
I did a physical count and imported it into DBA. I updated with option to update bin and set warehouse control to Yes.
now the users are faced with a screen in almost everyting (receiving PO, printing a pick list, issuing material....) with a screen that ask to select a defaul bin to an item. It takes a good few seconds to load, then few seconds after to show the line... then few seconds after to be highlighted, when they have to say set to default and click save.

Is there a way around that? is there a script or utility where this could be done off line? users are becoming extremely frustracted. as well when they do that, they are usually kicked out of the screen when they hit save..

Any help or tips is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If you do not want the Warehouse/Bin Conrtrol turned on, you can turn it off in SD-Q, Items screen in DBA Classic or SD-S in Evo-ERP.

we do want it on, but will it pop out every single time we need to print a pick list or issue material?

That is what the Warehouse Control does - ask you what Bin you are taking parts out of or putting them into.  If you don't want it to ask, you do not want it turned on.

May be I should re-phrase.
Its asking to confirm if the bin entered is the default one.
Eg: If we are printing a pick list (it has nothing to do with receiving or shipping) A screen pull out with a component or 2 with the bin location already there, but default set to N, so we have to set it as defualt and save. Then we are kicked out of the print pick list menu, when we enter again, we print the pick list with no problem...
It seems a problem happened when activating the warehouse control and the bins already there did not set as default.

I hope this makes it more clear. Of course I want the user to asked to which bin he is receiving and from where shipping but I do not see it in printing reports and pick list. By the way this screen also pulls out to issue materail, receive po. Its not to enter the bin, its to set the bin as default and save.

I should add as well, that once its done, it does not pull out again for that WO. this is why I suspect something went wrong when we changed the warehouse control to yes.
