WO-A Notes on WO-C Travelers -
08/05/10 at 09:54:30

Man, I keep getting better at my job the more I'm on this site - mostly reading and learning, but I have a question that maybe someone can help with...

WO-A allows us to enter notes in, through the tiny box along the Bottom. We put things like "Make sure to check for X" or "Hi Sam How are you" - Okay, dumb examples, but you get the point.

We release an order, print traveler, same thing, Via WO-C. It has all sorts of neat options - Print BOM notes, Print this, print that, but is there a button somewhere I can check to have shop travelers include these notes? Or do I need to spend some time in report editor and do it the looong way?

Take care folks - I hope someone has tackled this same issue before - and hopefully this post can help folks that come later!

Actually, I spoke to Lynn about something similar.

We would like to include the sales orders notes on the work order traveler.

She said that if we enable Evo Notes, we will be able to get the SO notes on the WO Traveler.

But!!! the system is going to use diferent reports. So we will have to re-edit all our reports.

We fought incorporating this also, because of having to re- format the RTMs. Finally bit the bullet, re-fromatted, and are happy campers.

Dang - I wouldn't just throw a question up here like this unless I have tried all I can - I've searched hi and low for the option to include these notes in the traveler - and to no avail. I try to avoid editing the reports whenever I can (1 Red Bull, Hold my calls please, I'm doing the RTM's) but looks like Imma gunna have to.

These new windows plus notes is becoming a big headache.

If you are using the old window BKWOA.RUN and you enter Notes it will print on the Work Traveler
But you are using the new window T7WOA.RWN and you enter Notes, it will NOT print on the Work Traveler, and there is no way to
make it work.

So user beware if you are using the new windows make user to enable "Evo Notes" and make sure to re-edit/format your reports.

You only have to format/modify RTMs if you have previously edited the T6 RTM, for example to add a logo tp the invoice.  If you have then you need to copy any changes to the T6 RTMs into the corresponding RTM beginning with "EN" which are the RTMs that are used when Evo Notes are enabled.  If you haven't previously modified the RTMs then you just need to enable Evo Notes in SD-A.  You can not simply rename the T6 RTM to EN because the structure of the EN RTMs is different because of the subreports for Notes.

If Evo Notes are not turned on, then any notes entered in T7WOA need to be designated CSN type to print on the traveler.  Other types will not print unless Evo Notes are enabled.  See www.istechsupport.com/EvoNotes.pdf for more detail regarding Evo Notes

Not in the latest version of Evo (and if your menu is calling the old program, you need to update it or log in as ADMIN).

ok - last question - those notes, they are obviously stored unique to each QO - what is the variable name for them? mtwo.something?

They are stored in the WBTRVMEMO.B file in the root DBAMFG file and linked to the Work Order/Customer/Vendor/Item using the ISNOTES file.  See www.istechsupport.com/EvoNotes.pdf for more detail regarding Evo Notes
