What does the shipper number on the packing slip represent?
I know its generated whenwe do the posting, but how can I search by this field?
 
I have a customer following up by Shipper number and I can not acces it in "reprint invoice or packing slip" the field is there but can on enter anything in it.

It is not an index so you can't search on it.  You can set the default to make the Shipper Number equal the Invoice Number and hten you have only one number per shipment to worry about and Invoice Number is an index.  If you want to use this option, you need to set your shipment procedure to release the order (SO-E) before the Packing Slip is printed (SO-C)
