Exporting BOMs to Excel
05/11/11 at 11:16:17

Looking to Export BOMs to Excel.

I want to get to .cvs or .xls the following columns:
Quote:

Parent part,Line#,Item#,Description1,Description2

...with hopefully the option to add or remove fields. I'd also like to get the Subs listed, and be able to feed in a list of parts I'd like the BOMs spit out to .cvs/.xls

Quote:

DummyPart,1,HexNut,I'm a nut,#8 stud
DummyPart,2,Bolt,I'm a bolt,#8 that's me!
DummyPart,2.1,BoltAlt,I'm a slightly different bolt,#8 that's me!

Sweet, figured out how to Query Evo in Excel, found most of the BOM fields I need and made a PivotTable™ that pulls out only the items of the BOMs I choose.

Got the Info from mrexcel.com, as follows:
Quote:
1. Select a single cell within the table of your data.
2. From the "INSERT" tab, select "PivotTable." This should be on the far left.
3. The "Create PivotTable" dialog box should appear & the entire range of your data should be selected.
4. Check to make sure "New Worksheet" is seledcted.
5. Select "OK"

You should now have a new worksheet with a blank PivotTable and a PivotTable Field List window open on the right of your screen.

1. Drag your "Part Number" Field to the "Report Filter" Window.
2. Drag all the relevant data fields of interest to the window labeled "Row Fields"

Also notice that there is two new tabs that appear in the Ribbon under PivotTable Tools that can be used to format the PivotTable.

Under the "Design" Tab, I like turning Subtotals Off, Grand Totals Off, & under Report Layout choose "Show in Tabular form"

That should get you started

Hope I helped

Proof if you poke around long enough you can find anything....

BKSBMFG is where the Manufacturer Part#'s are kept.

simplier way, is to just print the BOM using the graphical rtm and then choose to save as a file of type .csv or .xls.

you could even modify or create a special RTM based off a Copy of the T6BMB1.rtm to have only the fields you want displayed, hence export. especially since the report has all the fields you want and then some.

it also gets ALL levels of your BOM.
