PSQLv11 and multi core processor Evo performance
06/30/11 at 06:35:37

Has Evo been designed to utilize multiple cores on the server hosting the databases? I have read that for some applications that are not written to support multiple cores, performance may actually be worse with PSQLv11. Just wanted to know if anyone else is running Evo on a multi-core server and how is performance affected?

Thanks.

I have mine running on a 2ghz dual quad proliant 380 rack computer, server 2008r2 with 64 bit PSQL v11.
Performance is very good.

My MRP run at the server takes about 8 miniuits.

We just upgraded from 2000i SP3 to PSQL v11 and haven't noticed any negatives. Our server is a (4+ year old) Dell Poweredge 2900 Dual Quad Xeon running Windows SBS 2003.
