If I remember correctly, when you enter the first one, it starts the "clock" and increments it by the number typed in SD-B - Default work order increment.

You used to be able to tell it where to start whenever you wanted to. Same thing for SO's, PO's, Quotes. etc. Similar to Check numbers. Default WO increment only relates to WOs created from SO, and the suffix at that.
 
Problem is, our manually entered WO numbers are getting close to the ones generated from SO, so if we don't change them soon, they will be all mixed in with WOs from 10 years ago.

A new program, SD-R, took over all numbering (well, nearly all)
