Two Short Years In A Row
07/03/12 at 11:25:12

We have a situation where we needed to have two "short" years in a row (the company was sold / purchased).  The first short year seems to have gone through okay, the second short year doesn't seem to be working.  Is it possible to have two consecutive "short" years?

Our normal fiscal year is 1/1/xx - 12/31/xx. Because of the company change, we needed to have short year 1 = 1/1/xx - 6/30/xx  and short year 2 = 7/1/xx - 12/31/xx.  After that we wanted to return to normal fiscal years.

If you had our updates installed, it would be a simple matter of setting the dates in AM-N for the current and six years past.  However since you have the original DBA version that is limited to 3 years and assumes 12 month years it will be tricky.

If July 2012 is the beginning of your second short year and you haven't posted anything in July and you are finished with June then set the AD-A fiscal year start date back to 7/1/11 (ignoring the message warning you not to change the date) and run AM-B to generate the YE entries for 6/30/12 and reset the new FY Start Date to 7/1/12.  Come 12/31 you will need to do the same sort of thing.  If you have already posted in July, you are kind of stuck.

Or you could load our updates and eliminate the whole problem.
