work station suddenly turtle slow
01/26/13 at 10:05:58

After getting a new server and network in Augsut we have been spoiled  by speed,  but now we find that one workstation has become slow.   I am not sure if this has gradually happened or just suddenly happened as I dont get on it much.

Any and all help appreciated.

Blessings,
Laura

If it is isolated to a certain workstation, I would check for viruses or faulty network cards/bad network cables. Also, If the workstation is slow in general, it might just be time to replace it. Smiley

Actually EVO across the board is a little slower, regardless of which workstation.  I didnt realize that when I made my original post.

Gosh, Its good to see another Birmingham DBA/EVO user.   I don't think there are many of us.

Agreed!! Contact us if you ever want to see what we do with Evo regarding Access reports, integration with other software, etc. We don't mind sharing how we do things.
As for your problem listed here, did you have any luck finding the problem? Have you ever gone through the Data management process of archiving or purging data?
The different processes are listed here: http://www.istechsupport.com/istechhelp.pdf on pages 13-15. Those utilities help us tremendously when things slow down from keeping so much data.

Sometimes its just a matter of defraging the hard drive.
