If it is isolated to a certain workstation, I would check for viruses or faulty network cards/bad network cables. Also, If the workstation is slow in general, it might just be time to replace it.

As for your problem listed here, did you have any luck finding the problem? Have you ever gone through the Data management process of archiving or purging data?
