Printing Linked Docs with traveler hangs Evo
01/28/13 at 09:18:56

I have only one user who has to print the travelers and linked docs for work orders. Sometimes,
not all the time, everything gets locked up in the process of printing the linked docs.  The hardware
is not locked (NUMlock and CAPlock toggle), but Evo is non-responsive. You can see Adobe Reader
processes launched to print the linked PDF files.  This does not always happen on the same workorder
or part number.  He ends up hard powering down the system as he can't even end task on Evo. Anyone seen anything like this?

We are using Adobe Reader 11.  Long ago we saw something similar with Adobe Reader 9, but in
that case the linked docs just sometimes took forever to print out.

There was a problem with the last update printing Linked docs. It looked to me like it wasn't grabbing the filename, as you could see the dialog "Printing:____" and the little box that was supposed to have the filename would be empty.

But it was consistent, wouldn't print at all. Lynn sent me an update and I haven't had a problem since, so I don't think it's the same problem...

Yeah, I don't think it is the same problem.  May have something to do with launching multiple instances of
Adobe Reader--seems to launch one for each linked document, and I think that is causing problems.
Can't understand why it can't use the same instance and just close one document, open the next, etc.  It's
really hosing this user's system, because he keeps having to hard power down the PC every time it happens.  This is what he needs to do all day, as he is in production, so it really stinks for him.
