I know auto chains from S/O-N to W/O-A and W/O-C haven't happened because of incompatibility in the programs, but how far away are we from making that happen? It would really help the work flow.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "auto chain", though I can guess. We often go into WO-A after SO-N to add notes (guess we wouldn't have to if SO Line Notes could print on Travelers!).
 
And we almost never print travelers when the WO is created. We create the WO at time of order entry to create demand for MRP, and don't print travelers until the Friday before the week of production so that Start/Finish dates can be updated if necessary. Since we deal with construction there tend to be a lot of schedule changes.

I see. That does work, but we don't really want general SO notes printing on the WO. It would be nice if General SO notes and Line notes could be selected individually. I guess we have the option of creating a new Note Type and only printing that on the WO.
 
BTW, I understand an update is supposed to be coming out where Notes will be more accessible, i.e. maybe in a real table that could be seen by CR and the import utility. Any news on that?
