ROHS Usage
04/04/13 at 11:22:28

I'm not understanding how the ROHS function is used.  Choices or Y/N/P/E.  Yes and No are obvious. What are P and E?  Does this affect PO items? Other? Can some one tell me how they use this?  We do have items that must be ROHS, but how is this used in DBA?

We setup User Defined fields for China RoHS, REACH, Low-Halogen, CA Prop 65. We use the RoHS field for RoHS, but the problem comes in with excemptions, there's a ton of exemptions for RoHS, and a lot of them are expiring, so we make a notation if an item is RoHS with Exemptions because when the exemptions expire then that part becomes non-RoHS

RoHS, (which is now actually RoHS-II) is crazy complicated at times, a lot of our medical customers have been demanding we certify everything as RoHS because they HAD a lot of exemptions for RoHS, but these exemptions are all expiring which means they have to get their ducks in a row or get hit with some huge fines.
