Tax Authority can't be blank...Oh yes it can
07/03/13 at 18:09:36

When I enter a Sales Order and DBA that the job is taxable I am then required to enter a tax authority. In fact if I try to continue I get a pop-up that says "the Tax authority can not be blank".   So I didnt think it was possible to have a blank tax authority.

However I have found that SOMEHOW we have had some SOs enterered with taxable "Y", but a blank tax authority.

I am getting ready for an audit and found that some invoices were not in AR-K, and then found they were not in BKARTAX.

So I went into Maintain Database and added the invoice to both BKARTAX and BKISTAX, but sadly it still doesnt show up in my AR-K detail report with the rest of my invoices.

I was thinking it would be under BKARHINV but I dont see a field for the tax code.

My Question:  How do I get the invoice to report in AR-K?

Thanks,
Laura

Laura,

What is the BKAR_INV_TAXRTE on the BKARHINV table?? It can not be zero, if the BKAR_INV_TAXABL field is "Y"

PD: actually it is in both tables BKARHINV and BKARINV

I can't help you with getting it to show in AR-K, but we have been having similar issues as to invoices not having a Tax Group assigned to them. Thankfully in all but once case (AFAIK...) they have been Non-Taxable so it hasn't wreaked too much havoc with actual tax.

My guess is that someone has been entering SOs in Evo, since T7SOA did not require selection of a Tax Group. As of Wednesday that issue has been resolved IF "TAXABLE?" IS SET TO Y - ask Lynn for the fix.

However there is still potential for an SO being entered with no Tax Group if "Taxable?" is set to N or is empty. I understand some people wouldn't want to select a Tax Group if the customer is Non-Taxable, but we need to know total sales to multiple authorities regardless of whether they're taxable or not.
