GL-C doesn't show "new" Long Invoice Number

I thought there just wasn't enough room on the form, so I edited the RTM but it still is only showing the first 10 characters. I also tried the version in the \RTX folder, which is dated 2008 and seems to be identical. Do I need to point it to a different field? Will that work (is the table it's in open for printing)?
