Items - IN - A Sorty by Type
09/13/13 at 14:06:58

We are on release 7/26/13 SP1.  About 4 or 5 versions ago we could sort by type in IN - A after going into Transactions (red & green arrows).  Then we couldn't, then it was fixed in 3 release/SP ago and the last 2, including the one we are on, we can not sort again by Type.  We use this feature alot so it would be nice to have it back.

thanks!

Try going to Queries-SU-D and select "Replace" and see if it now works

I presume that will overwrite any user modifications to the grids?

No, it shouldn't.  But to make sure, make a backup copy of the following files from the \DBAMFG\Drill\ directory (these always have to be backed up and replaced as this group of 3 files):
BKLUGRID.mdx
BKLUGRID.dbf
BKLUGRID.dbt

Then try the "replace" function and see if fixes problems.  If your modified grids are now not there, just copy your backup files to the DBAMFG\Drill\ directory and you should be back to where you originally started.

Ok, that seemed to work. One more related question - is there a way to Reset to Default the User Settings for a grid (such as grid sort order, etc, saver by clicking the User Settings button)?

I do not think so because the sort fields are indexed (Cust Code index 0, Cust Name index 1, etc) and this is how they sort.  I tried modifying the grid to sort differently, but seemed to sort by the index sort even though I had them entered in a different sort

In any grid I've tried it with, if I modify the Sort Order and click the User Settings button, that's the way it's sorted every time I use the grid.

What I'm wondering is if there's a way to go back to the default. Or can I just assume that the top index is the default one and just pick and save that one?

The reason is, it's also my observation that if you have a Sort By other than the default saved, it takes twice as long for the grid to be populated, because it first fills in with the default sort and then has to refresh with the user defined one.

David,

Grid settings are stored in file EvoGridSettings.ini, located in your C:\ISTS directory.  Delete this file (or rename if you are cautious) and all grid settings will return to original default settings.  Next time you save a grid sort, this file will be re-created.
