spell check

Looking for a recommendation for spell check software to use with EVO

I'm playing with

http://tinyspell.numerit.com

$10 per user for the paid copy.  Currently reviewing the free version, also looking at

http://www.spellcheckanywhere.com/

I'm open to either one, both seem to be great add-ons to Windows.

Does anyone have experience with any add-on spell checking programs?

Never heard of such a thing, but it sounds great and think I'll give it a try.

Thanks!

I have never heard of it before either, but it would be a nice add on to EVO.

The TinySpell has a great price point, but I'm leaning towards the Spell Check Anywhere.

It would be the perfect program if they were both integrated into one program.

Heck we might endup with both of them on there anyway.   Won't cost a penny more.

Let me know what you think David.

I just downloaded them both, one to my desktop and the other to my laptop and they integrate seamlessly.  Very nice.   Looks like we can easily bundle Spell Check Anywhere with our product for a very reasonable price, I will look into it further.

Lynn, are you thinking as an add-on per user? Or maybe an offering over all users that say subscribe to a certain level of support?

I'm just looking for an early christmas gift!!

Lynn,

How are you going to "bundle" any of those programs?

Are they going to be like the"Quad-Lock Unit Converter? that can be call when need it?
Or every time you open EVO a spell checkers is going to be load (into your memory) as well.

If this is the case please make sure that:

There is an option to include it or not (some customers might not want it)
Make sure that you include any "requirement" like net framework, visual studio runtime, etc, etc.

By the way,

There are lots of dictionaries that can be easily add as an API library (free of charge).

Kelloggs,

So the API can be added to any software?

I'm not real understanding on how many things computers work, but as I understand Evo is made up of many different programs, so would it be difficult if each one had to run its own spell check instead of letting the operating system run the program.

Also, since you understand this better then I do... Do you already have this API installed for EVO and running spell check or just see no value in the spell check?

Unfortunately, neither You or I can do that. It is a the programming level. Only Ellen can do that.

By the way, because we are going to implement Evo Notes, in some cases a spell checker would be great, but in many occasions we abbreviated words.
If the spell checker is going to stop on each of this abbreviations is going to be annoying.

....some food for thought, that is all

Understood....

If you haven't take a look at the software.

One of the things that I will be excited for is using the Speed Typing feature.

Since I do some of the sales at the shop, every quote has a note attached to the customer, and every note starts the same way.... "Thanks for the opportunity...."

If I can replace that long winded statement with $Thanks, would be a real time saver on so many levels.

And if the spell checker is learning, as you go, custom dictionary, it would eat a little time up when you first start, but in the end it would be worth it.

Here the only thing that I'm interested in is areas that the customer might see on a S/O or a Packing slip

OK, so I think there is a potential conflict with TinySpell.  I loaded it to my Win 2008 server which is where my active IS Tech Support company copy of Evo resides.  I log in using Remote Desktop and use X-Charge to run credit cards.  Today for the first time since installing TinySpell, I had a new credit card to enter to a customer account.  Went to AR-A, brought up the customer, clicked the credit card icon, Add, entered the expiration date, name and billing zip code and X-Charge opened for me to enter the number but it would only let me enter a single character and locked up.  Had to restart, tried again, same thing.  Light bulb went off, maybe the spell checker is somehow trying to spell check the typing of the credit card number.  Uninstalled Tiny Spell, restarted and I was able to enter the credit card.  Meanwhile since I was using remote desktop from the desktop that has SpellCheckAnywhere loaded, it was active in the RDP session but did not interfere with the process.  So there is a vote for SpellCheckAnywhere over TinySpell, at least if you use X-Charge with Evo.
