DBA Font Problem
12/03/14 at 10:21:55

I am having a problem where the font size is too small and the alignment of data fields is off.  My view settings is set to small (640x480).  If I change it to medium the font size enlarges but printing is misaligned.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you for the response.  We did try changing the resolution and it did not fix the problem...

Hi Gina,

Yes, he is right. It is a DBA issue but I am quite sure the only way to fix it is by modifying windows settings.
Is the work station Win7? Windows XP? does it happen in all DBA windows?

 Huh

Try this

Change the windows theme to "Windows Classic"
Disable the Themes Service (Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools - Services)
Change your screen resolution to "Recommended" or to 1024 by 768

if that does not work, I don't know what else

Okay, Problem fixed but not %100 sure how.  Here is the series of events the Tech went through (tech guy is typing this)

1.  Read all help in the thread!  Thank you for all of the great suggestions.
2.  Tried them all again, just to make sure we didn't miss something.
None of the solutions seemed to make the problem go away...
3.  tried logging on under another profile (administrator) and see if DBA ran properly...  Negative/null results
4.  went back on as the user and found I was getting the Betrieve error. Ran workstation install from server for DBA. This didn't clear the error.
5.  Went to programs (Win7) and ran the repair on Pervasive
6.  System required reboot
7.  After reboot "WALA~" problem gone?...!!...???

My guess is that something got corrupt in the local install of persvasive that had a negative effect on the display fields from the database in the DBA program.  If anybody has any other thoughts gladly post them as I am not quite sure how or why this happened and if I am completely correct in my guess as to how I fixed it?  I will always take divine intervention but knowing often helps me sleep better at night.

Your guess is as good as mine.  "I was getting the Btrieve error" doesn't help, there are many of them and we need the error number. ut Screen resolution and view issues have nothing to do with Pervasive, it is strictly the behind the scenes database manager.  Maybe the reboot was what you needed.

The only way I've found to avoid this problem is to always select 'Shut Down' or 'Restart' when exiting Windows.  If any of our users select 'Log Off', the DBA screens are distorted the next time they use DBA.  This issue only affects DBA and not EVO.  Our machines are all Win 7 32 & 64 bit.  I just had a user call me about this issue, I restarted the workstation and now the DBA screens are normal again.  The user told me that he selected 'Log Off' when he was finished for the day.
