Archive Vendor Data archives records it shouldn't
01/15/16 at 14:10:38

Yes, we are on an older version for now, 2010.  When I archived the vendor data for one of our companies, it seems that there are quite a few records purchasing and accounting are telling me to restore. I just restored over 2 dozen, and earlier today I did close to a dozen.  The parameter was a last activity date of 12/31/12.  Yet all of the vendors restored had activity even as late as last week. Why would so many vendors get archived when they clearly had activity thru 2015 and into 2016?  Something in their setup not correct?  Or is it a "bug" in this version of Evo?  Just wondering....

If the archive utility looks at the "Last Purchase Date" shown in AP-A, it could get messed up. I had many vendors with a 00/00/00 date there which was simply not true.

This issue MAY have been fixed in a later version, but only to the extent that if you NOW make a purchase the field gets updated.

However, I archived vendors last year and still have some with a 00/00/00 LPD. Maybe the archive utility has also been updated to not archive unless there's a actual date.

Nope, mostly all of them (but not all of them) had last purchase dates and they were after the parameter of 12/31/12.

Also, when I went to do the archive, I do remember selecting the first record for "From" then selecting end of the range for "Thru" I wanted to archive, and Evo "flipped" the start and end of the range because I got an error that "the Thru value cannot be less than the from value" and thinking, what?  Then I looked at the screen and it was flipped. So I did it again, and same thing happened. SO, to do the archiving I had to select the end of the range or Thru Value as the "From" and the From as the "Thru" to get it to work.  Maybe that has something to do with it ignoring the Last Activity Date I entered......

In any event, I ended up having to restore all the archived vendors, because I just kept getting lists of records to restore.

This only happened in one company, our other company didn't give me this issue.  I did check the settings for both companies, and those as far as I can see are identical.
So not sure why this was occurring.....
