Bucket Help

When setting up a new company how do I "create" buckets for inventory items.  I imported the inventory (with QTY and Std cost) but i fear I missed a step.

What do you mean by "bucket"?

We are using FIFO, I thought we should have a "Bucket" for each part with its cost

The import does not address the FIFO or LIFO buckets.  Use IN-L-I and change to Average cost, then change back to FIFO to create a starting bucket.  Also, if you are using FIFO or LIFO costing, it is doubly important that you have defaults set and procedures in place to prevent on-hand inventory from ever going negative.

Worked like a charm.  We already have procedures in place in our primary company to insure that we don't go negative, we plan to employ those in the new company as well.  Thanks for the help Lynn!
