AP-A Vendor record "disappeared"

Someone or something deleted one of our active vendors. Can I just remake the same vendor with the same vendor code and go back to work, or is this going to mess up everything?
 
If I want to go all witch-hunty on said person, is there I way I can easily figure out what happened to the vendor data?
 
Edit: OK, this is weird, if I type the old vendor code into Enter Vendors then click reports or transactions all the data for that vendor comes up. I'm guessing I just have to re-fill in the Vendor Info and we should be back to "normal", still if anyone knows how you can track down what happened, let me know.

Hi AndyOB,
 
Around two weeks ago, our accountant delete a active vendor by mistake.
I called Lynn, and she was able to duplicate the issue, she said she will talk to programming.
 
We enter a new vendor, same ID, no problems so far.
