Alerts on notes from Copied Sales Orders
10/20/17 at 10:38:23

Holly is saying note alerts sales/accounting have on AR records are not working when the notes are copied with a sales order to a new order. She says the alerts work in the original order but not the copied orders.

Anybody else seeing / experiencing this?

Kind regards,

Val

Was this note on the original SO attached to the Line on the SO or the Header on the SO? Are you on the latest update? Also what type of note is it?

I believe the alerts are in the AR Record itself not in the sales order.  They get tied to the sales order when it is created. But if sales copies that sales order to create a new one, the alert does not get tied to it.

We are fairly to date, my signature shows the build and we last ran patches beginning of October (we do monthly).

Yeah, resurrecting an old post here...

Holly is again reporting this same issue.  She says "..Customer alert notes do not 'pop-up' when sales orders are copied..." which is done quite a bit for a specific type of order.  Since there is not a default setting for something like this that we can find mwhat should I be looking for to make this work?

Example would be Holly has an alert that advises to "Email invoices only" or "Freight Collect only", so these notes would need to pop-up for sales staff to seen so that they can add this info to the sales order notes or change the order accordingly.

Holly says sales tries to remember to look at the customer record when doing the order but they don't always remember, so she wanted a fool-proof way to make sure the alerts always come up when entering the order from the copy.

Any way to do this, or is it "it is what it is"?

Kind regards,

Val

Val,

There is a setting in SD-Q for this, and You will also need the latest 09/28/21  update of T7SOA.

The setting is on SYSTEM MANAGER TAB in the right hand side.  Trigger Alerts in Order Entry Programs for NEW or All (N/A)  set that to A and then when they edit or look at the SO after it is copied it will pop up the Customer alert if you enter through the customer code, like it does now if it was a new Order.

Thank Allen - sorry for the delayed response embarrassed  !  Just working down the list of outstanding Evo issues and saw this and said Oh yeah!

I'll make those setting changes and let you know.  We just updated to 2021.1 and I verified our T7SOa is dated 10/18/2021  (when we upgraded)

Kind regards,
