Selling an R part
06/06/18 at 04:52:46

Good Morning.

I have a part, lets call it "WASHER", it is an "R" (purchased part).

I want to rename it "WASHER-X" and sell it so our customers wont know our internal part number. Inventory would be bought and stocked as "WASHER".

How can i do this?

Thanks.

Create an F part and put the R part in the BOM for the F part? That is how we do it.

Don't you have to create a WO for the material to be moved to the new part number? That's what my planners are complaining about having to do.

Make a Selling Kit (Type K) for WASHER-X with a BOM of 1 each WASHER.  That eliminates the work order and you can exclude the kit component from printing on the documents that the customer sees.

Yes.  There is a "Print Kit Components" - you have to say No.
